Regent Seven Seas Cruises guests booking specifically for a redesigned suite should wait for sailing-level deck plans and inventory. Travellers booking for an itinerary can still evaluate current sailings, but should treat the existing suite layout as the product they are buying.
Cruise News reports that Seven Seas Splendor, Seven Seas Explorer, and Seven Seas Grandeur will receive accommodation changes during dry docks scheduled across 2027 and 2028. The important unanswered booking detail is which departures and categories will be loaded into reservation systems as pre-refit or redesigned inventory.
What the report says
The report says Regent plans larger Veranda Suites, a new Horizon Penthouse Suite category, and three additional Distinctive Suites on each of the three Explorer Class ships. The publication reports that each vessel will have 344 suites after the work, compared with 373 beforehand.
The reported Veranda Suite redesign includes walk-in closets, double vanities, and larger balconies. Cruise News lists the redesigned suites at 415 to 464 square feet, compared with 307 square feet for the current version. It reports Horizon Penthouse Suites at 616 to 722 square feet and Distinctive Suites at 821 to 918 square feet.
Those figures describe accommodation changes, not a confirmed improvement to service, dining, or crowding in shared spaces. A lower suite count alone does not establish how the onboard experience will feel.
Dry-dock sequence matters more than the suite name
According to the report, Seven Seas Splendor is scheduled to enter dry dock in November 2027, followed by Seven Seas Explorer in April 2028 and Seven Seas Grandeur in October 2028. That order gives Splendor the earliest reported path to the redesigned accommodation.
For a sailing near one of those windows, read the deck plan and category description attached to the actual departure—not a general ship page or a future suite description. A current Veranda Suite and a redesigned Veranda Suite are materially different products on the reported dimensions, even if the category name remains familiar.
Travellers who value a specific current layout should not assume it will survive the refit unchanged. Equally, travellers drawn to the larger Veranda Suites should not pay for a departure until the booking flow identifies the redesigned accommodation for that sailing.
How to make the booking call
If itinerary timing, ports, and dates drive the trip, choose the sailing that works and confirm the suite description shown during booking. The refit news alone is not a reason to abandon a strong itinerary on one of these ships.
