Cruise cost check

Cruise drink package calculator.

Run the drink package math before you book. Compare package totals, cabin rules, service charges, port-day behavior, and pay-as-you-go estimates.

What this page helps you do

  • Enter the package price shown in your booking planner when cruise line pricing is sailing-specific.
  • Compare the package total against realistic daily cocktails, beer, wine, coffee, soda, and water.
  • Check cabin purchase rules and official sources before relying on the final booking math.

What the calculator compares

The calculator compares the estimated package cost for the cabin with a pay-as-you-go estimate based on the drinks each participating adult realistically expects to buy. It is designed to make the assumptions visible rather than promise that one option is always cheaper.

Start with the current package price from the cruise line or booking planner. Then include the sailing length, number of adults required to purchase, service charges, and a typical day of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Small changes to those inputs can materially change the result.

Inputs that change the answer

Cabin purchase rules

Some cruise lines require additional adults in the same cabin to buy a package or an approved non-alcoholic alternative. Calculate the cabin requirement, not only one person's consumption.

Service charges and limits

Confirm whether gratuities are included, added at checkout, or charged per drink. Also check price caps, daily limits, excluded venues, private-island rules, and embarkation-day restrictions.

Port days and drinking habits

A sea-day-heavy itinerary may create more onboard use than a port-intensive itinerary. Use a realistic average for coffee, water, soda, beer, wine, and cocktails instead of the maximum you could consume.

Convenience versus break-even

A package may still be attractive for predictable spending or convenience even when the estimated saving is small. The result should support a preference decision as well as a strict break-even calculation.

Verify the rule that applies to your sailing

Package names, prices, inclusions, age rules, and promotions vary by cruise line, ship, region, and departure. VoyagePro summarizes planning rules and links to sources where available, but the cruise line's current terms and the price shown for the specific booking control the purchase.
